EHRF is a public interest incorporated foundation of Japan launched in 1957. It promotes research and study of economics, soil engineering, traffic engineering, and other issues relating to expressways in cooperation with industries, academies, expressway companies, and government authorities of Japan. It also organizes training sessions for engineers and hosts an annual exhibition of advanced technologies on highways.　 In addition, it has been contributing to exchanging knowledge with highway authorities abroad and to providing assistance to experts who work in support of post-disaster rehabilitation activities.
