The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) is a bridge company focused on infrastructure safety and sustainability. FBCL is a Crown corporation operating at arm’s length from the Canadian federal government, providing the highest level of custodianship of the bridges under its control and ensuring that these structures are safe and efficient for users. FBCL’s mission includes the provision of expertise and advice to the Government of Canada with regard to every aspect of bridge design, maintenance, safety, environment and operations. Headquartered in Ottawa, FBCL owns, manages and operates international bridges and associated structures in four geographical locations in Ontario with a governance model that includes international partners. FBCL’s strong stakeholder partnerships are essential to the operation of its bridges and to the delivery of its major projects. FBCL is responsible for managing the Canadian portion of international bridges in Cornwall, Sault Ste. Marie, Thousand Island and Point Edward.
