The King Fahd Causeway is a 25 km long series of bridges and causeways connecting Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and Al Jasra, Bahrain. Its five bridges rest on 536 concrete pylons, with seven embankments in the Gulf's shallower water
Our responsibility of the Causeway Management is represented in the managerial, financial and technical supervision of all existent operations in the Causeway; these operations include the coordination with the government bodies in both Kingdoms connected to the Causeway’s business. Also, they include the collection of tolls for traffic passing over the causeway and the use of the Causeway’s facilities.
King Fahd Causeway became one of the main global features as being frequented by tens of millions of citizens and residents. Hence, in order to keep pace with the annual increase in the numbers of visitors, our Directorate of Technical Affairs is implementing projects to expand the areas of passengers processing according to time plans that reasonably consider our ability to absorb the traffic of vehicles and the needs of the security forces operating on the causeway. Also, we satisfy the requirements of government and non-governmental departments for projects that contribute to facilitating the performance of tasks, facilitation which in turn shall be reflected on improving services to attendees of the causeway.
