The North Texas Tollway Authority has been connecting North Texans for more than 27 years. NTTA serves the fastest-growing metro area in the United States. At the agency’s core is a focus on its 14 million customers, safe, well-maintained and efficient roadways, and supporting economic growth and development in the region. NTTA relies on funding from tolls collected to repay debt incurred to construct approximately 1,200 lane miles of toll roads throughout North Texas. The agency does not receive tax appropriations for operation, maintenance or expansion of its toll roads. NTTA has long been at the forefront of tolling technology, as the first toll agency to employ an electronic toll collection system (ETC) in 1989 and the first to convert its entire toll road system to all-electronic tolling (AET) in 2010.
