John Peracchio provides strategic consulting services in the intelligent transportation systems (“ITS”) sector and automotive industry for strategic and investor clients. His focus is on deployment of mobility solutions across transportation modes, especially those involving connected, electric, and highly automated vehicles as well as innovation in transaction management and payments processing.
Mr. Peracchio currently serves as a member of the Michigan State Transportation Commission, which establishes policy for the Michigan Department of Transportation related to transportation programs and facilities and other such works related to transportation development, as provided by law. Responsibilities of the Commission include the development and implementation of comprehensive transportation plans for the entire state, including aeronautics, bus and rail transit, providing professional and technical assistance, and overseeing the administration of state and federal funds allocated for these programs.
From February 2017 to April 2020, Mr. Peracchio served as chair of the Michigan Council on Future Mobility serving under two of Michigan’s governors. Currently, Mr. Peracchio serves as a senior advisor to the succeeding Michigan Council on Future Mobility and Electrification. Mr. Peracchio is a former president and current member of the Board of Directors of Feonix – Mobility Rising, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the transportation needs of underserved and underprivileged communities.
Mr. Peracchio is an active member of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America and International Bridge, Tunnel & Turnpike Association. He was awarded Life Membership in the Intelligent Transportation Systems Society of Canada and is a member of the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council. He is also a member of the New York and Michigan bars and an associate member of the Society of Automotive Engineers.
Mr. Peracchio, a civilian, currently serves as regional director for Michigan and the Great Lakes at the US Naval War College Foundation, is a life member of the US Naval Institute and the Navy League of the United States and is a companion of the Naval Order of the United States.
Mr. Peracchio received his Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University.
